Marine Results has taken care of Hyperion’s rig for a number of years. The luxury Royal Huisman built sailing yacht is 47m (155′ 6″) in length and has a mast 59m (193.5ft) in height, so it’s no surprise that this most recent five year service like the previous ones that Marine Results have carried out, is a major project.
The rig was unstepped and laid out in the yard in Newport RI where the yacht was located. The team checked it over using non-invasive techniques and dye penetrants. The boom was also painted and a new rope package was supplied. A heading press, a not insignificant piece of machinery, was specially brought in, courtesy of Ocean Yacht Systems, to service the rod rigging components.
