Ben Pierrepoint of Marine Results flew to Gdansk in Poland in July to inspect the mast of a 24 metre (82 ft) luxury charter catamaran.
The yacht belongs to Sunreef Yachts which operates fleets on a worldwide basis. The mast, which was built in two parts and was constructed of resin infused carbon, was waiting to be stepped into the yacht. Sunreef had asked Marine Results to inspect the two halves before they were joined together, to certify that there weren’t any voids or delaminations.
The work was duly completed after which the yacht undertook successful sail trials and is now back at work.
